You need AT LEAST 2 weeks of growth for most body areas.
3 weeks is actually better for places you shave
frequently, like legs, underarms, and bikini area. If
your hair grows fast, it may look long enough to wax
after a week, and some of those hairs may BE long enough.
BUT there are small hairs underneath that won’t be
long enough for the wax to grab.
it’s not torture. I always work with new clients to
go at a pace that is comfortable for them. Also, if it
turns out to be more painful than you want to endure, we
can call it off at any time. The fact is, most people end
up saying it wasn’t as bad as they thought it would
First, let it grow. Longer hair comes out more smoothly
than shorter hair.
Second, exfoliate for a few days prior to your
appointment to help the hair let go a bit more easily.
Third, taking a couple ibuprofen about 30
minutes prior to your appointment will reduce the
Fourth, get waxed regularly. If you go wax to
wax with no shaving or trimming in between, and
you’re getting waxed every 4-5 weeks, the hair will
thin out A LOT! Less hair hurts less when it gets
I also sell a product called Bare Ease which is
a numbing cream and a latex panty. This
product numbs the most sensitive areas during Brazilian
waxing; it doesn’t make it a pain-free process, but
it’s definitely less painful. The cream needs to be
applied 30 minutes prior to your appointment, so
you’ll either need to come in some day prior to
your appointment, or get here 30 minutes early.
Show up for your appointment with clean
skin, free of oils and lotions. Don’t tan on the
day of your appointment.
Stay out of the sun and tanning beds for
24-48 hours after your waxing appointment. Don’t do
stuff that’s going to make you sweaty. If you get
sweaty, you should take a shower soon after.
Exfoliate daily with a loofah, body brush, or
other natural fiber scrubber. I sell various exfoliating
If your ingrown hairs persist despite regular
exfoliation, I also sell TendSkin which is a product that
works well to treat and prevent ingrown hairs.
It varies from person to person, depending on how fast
your hair grows and how long you have been getting waxed.
Generally, you will get 2-3 weeks of bareness followed by
a thinned out growth of new hair.
For most body areas, I recommend 4-5 weeks between waxes.
Not if you’re getting a bikini or Brazilian wax.
A bikini wax removes
the hair on the front side that would stick out of a
fairly small bikini bottom. A Brazilian removes all the
hair from the front and back. Some people get a Brazilian
but leave a patch of hair above the pubic bone. You can
always decide how much or how little hair you want
removed. Just let me know what you’re after.
